Train them with Clicker Training!
Clicker training becomes more and more popular not only with dogs but even more so with cats. Invented a few decades ago by Karen Pryor for a challenging training of dolphins, it became the "gold standard" for training animals in recent years. It has been scientifically proven that the so-called "Positive Reinforcement" training methods are not only the most effective but also fun for both owners and pets and is the ONLY proven method of training cats that cannot be trained by force or to satisfy their owners - like dogs.

NEVER-EVER use any such negative "training" with cats, such as punishment, scaring with loud noises or spraying a cat in the face! The only result you'd achieve is to raise a scaredy-cat and possibly cause aggression and fear of humans. Cats also do not "perform" for enjoyment of the humans. We need to make them WANT to do what we want them to do. The clicker training is the best method to achieve these results while having a lot of fun and increase bonding.

Here are a few great resources that will show you how:
1. Cat school:

2. Catmantoo clicker training: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmjkFWKCa7Q
You can find a lot of resources on the Internet but these ones are the most professional in my opinion
